Categories of audiences

Note: this is now implemented in 1.6, it just needs to be forward-ported to 1.8.

A common request is to be able to create groups of audience categories. When there are more than a handful of audiences, this would become useful.

Currently an audience category has a name and a label, the name is just an internal ID and can't be changed once created, the label can be changed by the admin user at any point.

I suggest that grouping emerges when “:” appears in the audience label. For instance, say these category labels exist in an MKDoc database:

  • Cats

  • Dogs

  • English Regions: South-East

  • English Regions : North

  • English Regions: South-West

  • Rabbits

The category listing presented to the user will look like this:

  • Cats

  • Dogs

  • Rabbits

  • English Regions

    • North

    • South-East

    • South-West
